Candy Bouquet

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary on April 8th.  It was our 6th year and the tradition for 6 years is candy.  I was so excited when I found this out because my husband L.O.V.E.S. candy!!  I had seen some ideas on the infamous Pinterest for candy bouquets and I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

Supplies:
4 boxes of Movie Theater candy (to make bouquet holder)
Candy (this could be anything, get creative!)
Wooden Skewers
Floral Foam Squares or Styrofoam
Hot Glue Gun and Glue
Tape

I apologize, I did not take a picture of each step, only the end result.

I used 2 floral foam squares (approx. 5" x 3") and stacked them on top of each other.  Then I took the boxed candy and hot glued one on each side of the foam squares.  (I did a double layer, but a single layer is perfectly fine.)  Then I taped candy to the wooden skewers (I broke some of the skewers to make them different lengths).  For the lifesavers, I simply poked each one on the skewer like a kabob.  I inserted the skewers into the foam squares until I was happy with the look.  Then I took the DumDum suckers and poked them into the foam squares to use as fillers.  After that, I had some lifesavers left and I just simply sprinkled them around the open areas to also use as fillers.

This was so fun to make and my husband loved this!!

In the anniversary card I gave Jad, I wrote a poem to go with the candy bouquet.
Of course, this is personalized to things between my husband and I, but you could use this to for some ideas.
This is what it said:

You say that I'm your sweetest  heart.  So that makes you my Sweetart.  You have become my Lifesaver.  You keep my heart going TicTac.  You're no DumDum.  I love how big of a Smartie you are.  Anything I need or want, you make sure I get it.  Some people call that a Sugar Daddy.  I disagree, but if it were true we sure have cute Sugar Babies.  As we grow older, we'll continue to put each other's medicine Bottle Caps back on.  And I'll try my hardest to keep that Starburst in your eye.

Shaklee

If you have not heard of Shaklee, please keep reading.
Shaklee helps make you healthier, your home safer, and the planet cleaner.
They offer Healthy Nutrition, Healthy Weight, Healthy Beauty, and a Healthy Home.

I have been wanting to try one of their popular products called Basic H2 for awhile now.  So, when I saw that they were offering a free membership (that gives you 15% off) with any purchase (April '12 only), I jumped at the chance!

I ended up purchasing the Basic H2 Super Concentrate

Let me tell you, this stuff is uh-maz-ing!!
These items are concentrated, so it only takes a small amount to handle a big job.
With the Basic H2, you add a tiny bit to a spray bottle then fill the spray bottle with water.
The first thing I did was spray my kitchen trash can.  Our lid seems to get very dirty very quickly.
I sprayed the lid and wiped and that dirt did not have a chance!  It was GONE!!
I told my husband to come check this stuff out.  He came over and I sprayed the inside of the trash can and started wiping it out.  He was amazed as well at how good and easy it was removing the dirt.

The Dish Wash Concentrate is just as good!
When it was time to do dishes that night after dinner, I started filling up the sink and added just a few drops of the Dish Wash Concentrate.  Those few drops made enough to wash a load of dishes, pots and pans!

I am now waiting on my shipment of Dish Washer Automatic Concentrate, Fresh Laundry Concentrate (powder), and Soft Fabric Softener.  I cannot wait to try them out.

For the month of April 2012 only, Shaklee has a deal going on that is so awesome that it is only offered every year or two.

They are offering FREE MEMBERSHIP with any purchase!!!!!!

This is a $19.95 value AND it gets you 15% off ALL Shaklee products for life!

This special will only last through April, so get it while it's FREE!

Titanic

Today is the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. I am watching a show called "Titanic's Final Moments/Pieces" on the History channel right now. I have always been intrigued by the story. The movie starring Leo & Kate is my favorite movie. I am wanting to see the 3D movie that is in theaters. There is a new museum in Gatlinburg that I am anxious to check out.

What are your thoughts about Titanic?

I WON THE LOTTERY!!!!!

I really did!  My husband and I won $7!!!
Friday's record breaking $656 million Mega Millions went to three winners from three different states.  According to USA Today, the odds of winning were 1 in 176 million.  Americans spent nearly $1.5 billion on Mega Million tickets over nine weeks with more than $429 million spent on Friday alone.

Did you buy tickets?  I have to admit, my husband and I did.  We do not normally play the lottery, but when it got that big we were part of that $429 million that was spent on Friday.

I find it fun to dream a little about what I would do with the money if I was that 1 in 176 million to win.  Don't you?
